Using the QuickBooks/Quicken Interface

 

 In Policy Profiler:

  1. On the Policy Profiler main menu, enter 31 (Transmittals).
  2. Select Yes to generate transmittal reports.
  3. Press Enter to accept the date range shown for transmittals or enter the ending range and then press Enter.
  4. Print transmittals.
  5. Press Enter on Option L to export to Quicken or QuickBooks.
  6. Select Update.
  7. Tag the desired transmittals by highlighting each transmittal and then pressing the spacebar.
  8. First Time Users Only: Complete the following setup steps.
    1. Select Setup and enter applicable information. If the default information shown is applicable, you will only need to specify which product you are using.

Note:  Press F1 in the Expense Category and Number/Reference fields for an explanation of these fields.

    1. Write down the location on the server or hard drive where the export file will be saved. You will need to reference it later.
    2. When finished, select Save.
  1. Select Export. A confirmation message displays. Select Yes to continue.

 In QuickBooks 2000:

  1. On the menu bar, select File, Utilities and then Import.
  2. In the Look In field, click the down arrow key and select the location where the export file was saved.
  3. Select the export file and click Open. (The file will have a .IIF extension.)
  4. A confirmation message displays indicating that the data has been imported. Click OK.
  5. On the Navigation Bar, click Company Center.
  6.  Under Account Balances, look for the Account and Expense Category names you assigned in Policy Profiler. (If you accepted the default names, the Account is called Checking and the Expense category is called Business.).  Double-click on the account or expense category to view Policy Profiler export data.

 In Quicken 2000:

  1. On the menu bar, select File, Import and then QIF file.
  2. Under QIF File to Import, enter the export file location or click Browse to identify the export file location.
  3. Select the file and click OK.
  4. On the QIF Import screen, click OK.
  5. If the Account and Expense Category names you set up in Policy Profiler have not been set up in Quicken, a message may display indicating that Quicken has detected an unrecognized category or class. Click Yes to create a new category or class.
  6. A confirmation message displays indicating that the files have been imported. Click OK.
  7. View the imported files by clicking on Checking or on My Finances from the Navigation Bar.
